Sugar Ray Leonard on 'DWTS': 'I Wanted to Cry'
Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard knows how to move in the ring but preparing for "Dancing with the Stars" has been a daunting task for the athlete.
"I had two left feet and I was like, 'Oh my God, this is crazy!'" Leonard admitted to "Extra's" Terri Seymour when he began rehearsals with partner Anna Trebunskaya. "The second day I said 'What have I got myself into?' I mean, I wanted to cry."
He continued, "As a boxer you have to be smooth and loose and everything. But I think with dancing, it's more graceful."
Trebunskaya said she worried about his energy level. "I don't want him to lose any weight. I want him to be strong and healthy, and I'm actually reminding him to eat."
Still, Leonard is definitely getting into fighting shape. "Not saying I'm the best, but I'm more..." Anna chimed in, "More of a dancer now."
Leonard and Trebunskaya take on the fox trot when "Dancing with the Stars" premieres Monday, March 21 on ABC.
