'Extra' Raw! Backstage with the SAG Award Winners
"Extra's" Adrianna Costa had a backstage pass at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, talking with all the winners, including the cast of "Modern Family."
"If you give Ed O'Neill three words in a sentence, he will get the biggest laugh you've ever heard with three words," said Eric Stonestreet, referring to his "Modern Family" co-star O'Neill, who gave the SAG Award acceptance speech for the show's Best Comedy Series Ensemble win.
Lead Actress winner Natalie Portman laughed with Costa, looking at an old high school yearbook photo of Portman, courtesy of "Extra's" new Samsung Galaxy Tab. "That was taken in high school when there were the senior superlatives," the actress explained. "Most likely to whatever, you know. So I won Most Likely to Win 'Jeopardy' 'cause I was a nerd."
And then there was "Extra's" T-Mobile My Touch 4G station, where the winners could call anyone they wanted! Supporting Actress winner Melissa Leo tried to call her dad ("I think this might be his number"), while Alec Baldwin succeeded in calling his mom. "Is that you mom? I wanted to call you from the phone here from the booth at 'Extra'!"
Costa also asked winner Julianna Margulies why she thanked her in-laws in her acceptance speech for Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Margulies replied, "I had to thank them for producing the man who makes my life and makes my work so much easier."
One person Geoffrey Rush forgot to thank while accepting the SAG for Best Feature Film Ensemble was "The King's Speech" director Tom Hooper. "Oh, I made the great gaffe of not really thanking Tom, but, you know, he's a director. He's not an actor and it was an actors' night."
