John Edwards Has Not Proposed
Former Senator John Edwards is not engaged to his babymama, Rielle Hunter.
"It's not true," a friend of the Edwards family told People.com, negating a recent tabloid report saying Edwards had proposed to Hunter over the holidays.
Edwards has yet to confirm or deny if he and Hunter are together, but a source close to the former presidential candidate told People if there is a relationship, its only focus is in parenting their love child, Frances Quinn, who turns 3 in February.
"The nature of the relationship, as far as I know, is one of a father calling the mother and talking about Quinn, figuring out the holiday schedule," the source said.
Edwards' estranged wife, Elizabeth, died last month after a long battle with breast cancer.
