Anne Hathaway on Oscars: 'I'm Still a Little Speechless'
"Extra" caught up with "Love and Other Drugs" star Anne Hathaway at Monday's Gotham Independent Film Awards, where she told us she was still shocked about being asked to host the 83rd Academy Awards.
"My gosh, it's the Oscars! I'm still a little speechless about it, to be honest," Hathaway said, adding, "I have a good feeling about it."
The previously-nominated actress will host alongside actor James Franco for the film industry's biggest night, March 7th.
"James Franco was attached and agreed to do it before I had signed up," Hathaway explained. "I think the world of him and his taste. So the thought of getting to do it alongside of him was too good of an opportunity."
Another reason the 28-year-old actress decided to host this year's awards ceremony: "It seemed like such a wacky and wonderful thing to do," she said. "Such a once-in-a-lifetime experience."
Hathaway plans on contacting previous hosts in hopes of getting a little advice before the big night.
"I'm planning on calling Shirley MacLaine tomorrow morning, because she's hosted. I would call everybody. I have a nice little rolodex I'm trying to work out."
Mark your calendars! The Oscars will air on ABC, Sunday, February 27, 2010 at 8:00 PM EST.
