Melissa Etheridge and Partner Split
Singer Melissa Etheridge and her partner Tammy Lynn Michaels have decided to separate after nearly nine years together.
"Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated," Melissa's rep confirms to "Extra."
The pair added a joint statement: "We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period."
Melissa, 48, and Tammy, 35, exchanged vows in a 2003 Malibu ceremony that was featured on ABC's "InStyle Celebrity Weddings." Tammy gave birth to their twins; son Miller and daughter Johnnie Rose in 2006, after helping Melissa get through her battle with breast cancer.
Etheridge has two children with former partner Julie Cypher.
