Dr. Klein Admits Giving Demerol to MJ
Dr. Arnold Klein, has admitted to administering the painkiller Demerol to the pop icon, but claims he warned Jackson about using Diprivan.
Klein told King that Demerol was the strongest drug he prescribed for Michael, but says he has no idea how Jackson got hold of Diprivan, a powerful sedative administered in hospitals or surgical settings. "I, on occasion, gave him Demerol to sedate him, and that was about the strongest medicine I ever used," Klein said. "I knew at one point that he was using Diprivan when he was on tour in Germany... and I told him he was absolutely insane."
The doctor added, "If you took all the pills I had given him in the last year at once, it wouldn't do anything to you."
Klein said he administered painkillers and sedatives to Jackson because of the pop icon's extreme discomfort from surgical procedures and serious burns suffered while filming a Pepsi commercial. He also claims Jackson suffered from Lupus, which caused hair loss, and from vitiligo, which affected his skin pigmentation.
