Obama: First Pooch is Coming Early April
On the campaign trail, President Barack Obama promised to buy his daughters Malia and Sasha a first dog -- and the Commander-in-Chief plans to keep his word!
During an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Obama confirmed that the family's pup would arrive at the White House in early April, after a trip to Europe. "When we get back the dog will be in place," The Prez said, adding jokingly, "They say if you want a friend in Washington, get a dog."
First Lady Michelle has hinted that her family is leaning toward a Portuguese Water Dog -- but Mr. Obama was mum when Leno asked about the breed of pooch they planned on adding to the family.
