Another Apology from Miley
Disney darling Miley Cyrus has issued a second apology for an offensive photograph taken with BF Justin Gaston and friends. In the pic, the 16-year-old uses her fingers to stretch her eyes, which has caused an uproar because of the racism toward Asians.
Cyrus wrote on her official fan site, "I want to thank all of my fans for their support not only this week, but always! I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone. I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometimes my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GOD's ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be. Peace and love, Miles"
Us Weekly reports the Organization of Chinese Americans, an advocacy group, released a statement saying the "Hannah Montana" star set "a terrible example for her many young fans" by "mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent."
The teen superstar first apologized for the picture last week, but was criticized for not being genuine or quick enough in her response to the controversy.
