Off the Runway and on to the Red Carpet!
Thanks to New York Fashion Week, Hollywood has plenty of choices for Awards season. Designers like Vera Wang, J. Mendel, and Reem Acra presented their new looks, and fashion guru Lloyd Boston let "Extra" know what looks are the hottest for the red carpet!
Vera Wang mixed romance and drama with subtle colors and edgy jewelry, describing her line as "motorcycle meets the Magic Kingdom at Disney." Stars will resemble funkalicious Disney princesses in her designs. "The color palette was that fun, fairytale, kind of magical, whimsical, playful colors." Boston says to breathe easy because "loose, wearable clothes that actually flatter and forgive" are back in style.
J. Mendel is bringing colorful dresses, hand-pleating and ruffles into the mix. Boston believes Mendel's pieces work for any woman -- no matter what age. "Clean shapes, retro elegance and that modern glamour -- goes for 20-something women to 60-something divas."
Lloyd Boston also thinks Reem Acra designs are best for full-figured femmes, saying, "I predict these looks will be worn by the actresses who have curves and who aren't afraid to show them off. They are very forgiving pieces and totally ageless."
