Idol Ruben Studdard to Wed

Singer Ruben Studdard, winner of "American Idol" season two, obtained a marriage license yesterday in Alabama with fiancée Surata Zuri McCants, People magazine reports.
The 29-year-old "Velvet Teddy Bear" and McCants, 30, filled out paperwork at the Shelby County Probate Office in Birmingham, according to an eyewitness who said, "They looked really happy." It's unknown when the two plan to marry, but an Alabama marriage license is valid for just 30 days.
Ruben, originally from Birmingham, beat Clay Aiken in May 2003 for the "American Idol" title, and was the first and only male to hold that title until 2006, when fellow "205" native Taylor Hicks won "Idol's" fifth season.
