Will the ‘American Idol’ Judges Return Next Season? Ryan Seacrest Weighs In
There has been a lot of talk about “American Idol,” and whether judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan will return next season. “Extra's” Renee Bargh caught up with host Ryan Seacrest at the ABC Upfronts in NYC to find out the latest.
Ryan told Renee, “I don't know how close [the judges] are. I do know they're in the process of trying to work it out now.”
He added, “They are great at what they do, they found such great talent, they have great chemistry, everyone respects everyone so I hope it works out.”
Surely, Ryan could help sway the decision-making process. He joked, “I made some muffins, some banana muffins tonight, and I can offer them a fresh batch of muffins, gluten-free almond butter banana muffins.”
Previously, Seacrest gave us a breakdown of the judges' styles, “I would say Lionel's probably the chief of diplomacy on the panel, they're very nice about it but Katy's very direct, Luke can be direct, too, but with a hug.”
Ryan started hosting the show back in 2002, and he's excited to be back for Season 3 of the reboot. He told Renee at Upfronts, “It has been almost 20 years… I haven't grown, but I've grown up doing it.”
Watch the “American Idol” finale Sunday at 5 p.m. PT/8 ET on ABC.
