On Sunday, Jim Carrey took his new girlfriend and “Kidding” co-star Ginger Gonzaga as his date to the Golden Globes!
On the red carpet, Jim, 56, and Ginger, 34, held hands and shared loving looks.
“Extra's” Renee Bargh and special correspondent Adam Glassman caught up with Jim, who gushed about his date, “She's incredible, unbelievable, wicked talent and amazing person.”
When Renee commented on the Globes being a pretty epic date night, Jim commented, “Not bad for a first date,” joking, “I just want first base tonight, I'm not looking to take the field.”
Earlier in the day, Gonzaga showed support for her man, tweeting, "Art is a wonderful therapy, and we've all been traumatized by @realDonaldTrump ! Treat yourself and color this @JimCarrey cartoon! Send back with #ColorHimGone ! Enjoy!"
The night before, the pair made their red-carpet debut at the Showtime Golden Globes Nominees Celebration in West Hollywood.
Carrey is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy for his role in “Kidding,” competing against Sacha Baron Cohen, Michael Douglas, Donald Glover and Bill Hader. He shared, “So many wonderful people involved in it… It's a beautiful show and it's a heavy show. It's important to know how a good heart comes back from hopelessness.”
Jim, who has been outspoken politicallym is optimistic that change is coming. He said, “I do feel hopeful, I feel there is a shift happening already, we have to do it carefully, we have to put all our resources into it.”
