Last night on "Dancing with the Stars," Vanessa Lachey was faced with a wardrobe malfunction, but she handled it with grace.
While performing a quickstep with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Lachey’s red skirt became undone. As Vanessa and Maks danced, co-host Tom Bergeron reacted quickly, running to the dance floor to pick up the skirt and move it out of the way.
After their performance, Lachey joked to Tom, "I lose my skirt right in front of the judges. It looks like bribery… Hey, if it’s for extra points, I’ll take it.”
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised Lachey for how she handled the situation, saying, "It took me back to Season 1 when Kelly Monaco had a wardrobe malfunction and it actually sent her over the top. What I saw was you — something happened and you just let yourself go and it was such a fantastic performance! You are the epitome of class and grace.”
Guest judge Shania Twain had similar sentiments, saying, "For me, just on the entertainment value, it was sass, humor and class. I wasn’t sure when you lost the skirt if it was meant to happen at that moment or not because you kept your composure. It didn’t matter, and you went with it and I loved it.”
Despite the wardrobe malfunction, Vanessa and Maks were still able to score a 36/40 for the dance.
After her husband Nick Lachey was eliminated on Monday night, “Extra’s” Mark Wright caught up with Nick, who commented on the malfunction. When asked if he would have ran to the dance floor if he was nearby, Nick replied, “No… I would have stayed way out of the way. Bad things happen when I step foot on the dance floor." Watch!
