Singer Taylor Swift has been spending a lot of time with Tom Hiddleston lately, but she still makes time to give back to the world!
After hearing about the catastrophic floods in Louisiana, Swift donated a whopping $1 million to the state’s disaster-relief fund. She said in a statement, "We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking.”
She went on, "I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
Eleven people have died from the flooding, which has also caused damage to 40,000 homes.
It is no surprise to hear about Taylor’s generous donation since she was named the most charitable celebrity by DoSomething.org last year for helping out Broadway Cares: Equity Fights AIDS, her fans battling cancer, and various hospitals.
