Megyn Kelly Talks Secret Meeting with Donald Trump
Megyn Kelly is ready for another round with Donald Trump.
“Extra's” AJ Calloway caught up with the FOX News anchor at the 2016 Met Gala, where she joked about her fierce look before telling him about her secret meeting with Trump and more.
Kelly, a first-timer at the gala, joked about her Badgley Mischka dress, saying, “It's like the mullet… business in the front, party in the back.”
Turning to politics, Kelly detailed her secret meeting with Trump that led to their upcoming primetime special for FOX. “I asked him if he would take a meeting with me because I think we had enough of what was going on… Some of the reports were that I [attended the meeting] incognito; no, I was not.”
Megyn said she attended the meeting at Trump Towers solo, despite having plenty of volunteers. “I had quite a few volunteers to go with me, my executive producer of my special, my executive producer of my FOX news show, my husband [laughs], all of whom I said no because I wanted to go by myself. I asked him if he would be alone and he agreed, so it was just the two of us.”
She went on, “We didn't talk about anything that happened between us — that will happen for the first time on the May 17 special.”
What did they talk about? “It was a chance to sort of clear the air and get back on solid footing so we could go forward, I hope in a more positive way and perhaps he'll come on 'The Kelly File' from time to time.”
When AJ asked about Trump's chances at winning the presidency, she said, “I think at this point it's very likely he's going to win the nomination. Trump has made fools out of a lot of people who have discounted him and underestimated him. I think it's very difficult to count him out. You never know what to expect — I can attest to that.”
