Pete Davidson, a rising star on “Saturday Night Live,” paid tribute on Friday to his late father, Scott Davidson, a New York firefighter who died on 9/11.
Keeping with his comedy roots, Davidson started with a crude joke (read it here), before following up with multiple heartfelt messages.
The comedian, who was 7 when his dad was killed, tweeted, “All jokes aside. There's not a day that goes by where I dont think of u. Ur my hero. Cant wait to see u again someday.”

Pete also posted a pic on Instagram with the caption, “Can't believe it's been 14 years. Over 2/3 of my life without you. It feels like it was just yesterday. There's not a day that goes by where I don't think of you. You're my hero. Can't wait to see you again someday RIP dad 1/4/68-9/11/01 #neverforget.”
He followed up by thanking fans for their support, writing, "Thank you so much for all the support today you guys. I really appreciate it. I'm a very lucky guy."
