Jose Canseco Rushed to Surgery After Accidental Shooting
Former pro baseball player Jose Canseco is on the mend after an accidental shooting!
His fiancée, Leila Knight, told the Los Angeles Times that Canseco shot himself in the left middle finger while cleaning his gun at his Las Vegas home.
"I heard the gun go off and saw his middle finger hanging by a string," she said. "It will either have to be amputated or have full reconstruction [sic] surgery."
She added that doctors said the former Oakland Athletics outfielder will lose full use of his hand.
Knight tweeted from Canseco's account, “This is Leila . Thank you all for the kind words and prayers . Jose is in still surgery and will be ok. Please pray for his finger !!”
She later confirmed that he was okay, telling fans, “finally safe and sound with my love bug @JoseCanseco. So glad he's ok and soooo glad I was there when it happened. thank god”
