Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Open Up About $300M Divorce Rumors
“Extra’s” Terri Seymour caught up with Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, where the reality stars spoke about the day their kids saw a Star magazine cover claiming the couple was splitting.
Spelling said, “I was horrified because I've had stories written about me for years, and you develop a tough skin and you kind of move on, because there's really nothing you can do to stop them... but all of a sudden, when your child reaches an age and you realize, 'Oh my gosh, they can read it,' then it takes on a whole new meaning.”
Seymour asked Tori how she explained the magazine cover to 4-year-old daughter, Stella and 6-year-old son, Liam. “They didn't understand because Stella, who's very literal, said, 'Well it's in a magazine and that means it's the truth. That's what magazines are. They tell us things that are true. They report news.' And that was a tough one to say it's not true, I kept reassuring her that everything's great. We're all together as a family.”
Tori talked about the open letter to Star she posted on her mommy blog. “It made me feel a little better about it… It was because I wanted other moms to know what we were going through, that we might be in a different situation. We might have people staring at our lives but we're all, at the core, we're the heads of the family and we're keeping our family safe and happy.”
Spelling and McDermott recently came under fire after tweeting about taking a family shower together.
Dean explained, “It's a wonderful bonding experience.” Tori added, “It's a family tradition when they're like 2 months old. We started bringing the babies in the shower and getting them used to the water. I'm going to drive the point home… You try having four small children 6 and under -- 6 months to 6 years -- and having to bathe each one individually. It takes up a lot of time, so don't give us any grief.”
The reality TV couple is not ruling out adding more children to their family. Dean said, “If it happens, it happens.”
