When Sharon Stone first heard her good friend and "Basic Instinct" co-star Michael Douglas was battling throat cancer, she was worried.
"I was of course very, very concerned because he's very dear and important to me," Stone told "Extra." But, she added, "I feel absolutely certain that he will beat this."
We talked with Stone at the Eagle and Badge Foundation's Gala over the weekend, where she was acting as master auctioneer to raise money for police officers and their families. For her, supporting Douglas through this ordeal is one of her main priorities.
"We have been friends a long time, and I'm very much in his corner," she said. "I wanted to make sure that he was getting the best possible care, which he is, and that his prognosis was good, which it is."
Stone also praised Douglas' marriage with Catherine Zeta-Jones. "He really married the right woman, and I think that when you have the best person standing beside you, there's nothing more curative than love."
