Rocker Bret Michaels is headed for New York to compete against Holly Robinson Peete on the live "Celebrity Apprentice" finale.
Earlier this week Michaels suffered a warning stroke known as a TIA or Transient Ischemic Attack that could have prevented him from attending the anticipated finale.
The singer's spokesperson, Janna Elias, said in a statement posted on Michaels' website: "Bret is a very passionate person and refuses to live his life curled up in a ball wondering if or when something else might happen. No doubt these recent medical complications have been tough but he wants to continue to live his life, enjoy every day and get back on the road."
Bret Michaels is currently receiving daily injections of blood thinners and is being closely monitored by doctors.
