Rob Lowe Gives Update on Montecito Mudslides, Plus: How You Can Help
Rob Lowe made an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where he discussed the relief efforts following the wildfires and mudslides in Montecito, California.
Lowe was not in his hometown when the devastation happened, but his son was staying in their Montecito home and called him in a panic at 4 a.m. He revealed about a pic that his son showed him, “Fires [were] everywhere because gas lines were rupturing. It was like Armageddon."
“People who saw the fires, they woke up, went out to see what was going on, and then were washed away," he added. "It was, truly, a perfect storm of bad events."
He said, "It's been a really difficult week. The sadness... I can't kind of get beyond it."
Of the aftermath, Lowe commented, “It's still unfortunately 20 dead. They did find one of the missing alive two days ago, but there's three missing as of today."
Lowe also discussed the homes lost, saying, “When they talk about the destroyed [homes], they're really destroyed. The homes that are still standing will eventually have to be wiped out, they don't even really talk about, because it's so extensive."
