Terrence Howard Says Robert Downey Jr. 'Pushed Me Out' of 'Iron Man'
Actor Terrence Howard has finally opened up about why he left the “Iron Man” franchise, and he's blaming Robert Downey Jr.
During a recent episode of Bravo's “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, a fan asked why he left the role of Air Force Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes after the first film in 2008.
Howard answered, "Would you like to really know? It turns out in order for -- this is going to get me in a lot of trouble -- it turns out that the person that I helped become Iron Man... when it was time to re-up for the second one, took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out."
He went on to explain the details of his contract, saying he was offered less than expected for the second film.
Terrence said when it all went down, “I called 'my friend' that I helped get the first job, and he didn't call me back for three months.”
When Andy asked how Howard and Downey Jr. are getting along these days, Terrence replied, "Oh I love him, God's going to bless him."
