'I Am Cait' Premiere Full of Heartfelt Moments
"Extra" had the chance to watch the highly anticipated docu-series "I Am Cait" at an early screening on Tuesday.
The premiere featured key moments, such as Caitlyn's friendship with Kris' former best friend Ronda Kamihira, her mom's reaction to her transition, Rob Kardashian's response to the "Vanity Fair" cover, and Kanye West's thoughts on her appearance.
Following Caitlyn's split from ex-wife Kris, rumors were flying that Caitlyn was dating Ronda. The episode revealed that Ronda is actually Caitlyn's assistant and confidant.
At the beginning of the episode, Caitlyn's nerves get the best of her while she waits for her mom Esther and sisters to visit after her transition.
After Esther sees Caitlyn for the first time, she remarked, "I think he's a very good looking woman. He's still Bruce. I love him so much." During a family conversation, Esther said, "I really want to learn more. I need to understand more."
The episode also features a brief cameo by Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West, who said Caitlyn was "changing society in the most meaningful way." Kanye also told Caitlyn, "You're a celebrity, your daughter is a supermodel, and you're saying this is who I am."
Kim's brother Rob also makes an appearance in the premiere via phone. He calls Cailtyn to compliment her on the "Vanity Fair" cover. Caitlyn also receives a FaceTime call from Kylie, who is feeling "loopy" after a visit to the dentist's office.
At the end of the episode, Caitlyn visits the family of transgender teen named Kyler, who committed suicide. During the drive to visit Kyler's family in San Diego, Caitlyn has to change cars twice to avoid paparazzi, who were getting $250,000 per photo.
"I Am Cait" premieres Sunday, July 26 at 8/7c on E!.
