What Mariah Carey Wants from James Packer After Their Ugly Split

Singer Mariah Carey is reportedly asking for $50 million from ex-fiancé James Packer — and they were never even married!

TMZ reports that Mariah and James are currently in settlement negotiations after their split. Mariah is reportedly asking for $50 million for uprooting her family to L.A. to be with him and for the cancellation of a leg of her tour. Carey was supposedly left too distressed to perform her concerts. Along with the money, Mariah is reportedly asking James to buy her home in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Mariah and James' team were working on a prenup earlier this year since he wanted to marry her March 1 in Bora Bora. In the prenup draft, Mariah would receive $50 million from Packer if they split.

In the event of a breakup, Mariah would have to return any jewelry that James gave her unless he said it was a gift, according to the documents.

Though Packer wanted the prenup to be signed and completed by March, his people were unable to deliver by that date. In an email, he reportedly wrote, "I don't know who's working for who because there are a lot of names I haven't heard before on this email chain. The people who work for me -- message -- do as I say or f**k off. I want to get married on March 1st. James."

At the time, Mariah's ex Nick Cannon had not signed the necessary papers to finalize his divorce from Mariah, making it impossible for Mariah and James to legally marry. They were reportedly planning on having a “commitment ceremony.”

The prenup was never signed.
