Angelina Jolie & Kids Dazzle at Cambodian Film Premiere
Hours after attending a press event for her film "First They Killed My Father" in Cambodia, Angelina Jolie, along with her children, appeared at a special opening ceremony and premiere for the movie on Saturday, also attended by the country's king.
Ravishing in a floor-length hot-pink gown, Jolie graciously received a bouquet of flowers from King Norodom Sihamoni, also meeting with the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath at the event, held at the Terrace of the Elephants at Angkor Wat Temple Complex in Siem Reap.
Accompanying Jolie were son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, and daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10. Maddox, adopted from Cambodia by Jolie and her ex, Brad Pitt, is an executive producer on the project, and is credited by Jolie as pushing her to make the film.
The premiere was billed as an event for the people of Cambodia, whose story Jolie is telling in her drama, adapted from the harrowing memoir by her friend Loung Ung.
The film, which covers the years in which the Khmer Rouger decimated the country's population under the command of Pol Pot, is dedicated to the people of Cambodia, was shot entirely on location in the country, used over 3,500 Cambodian background actors and boasts an all-Cambodian cast.
"First They Killed My Father" is a Netflix Original Film that will be released worldwide on the platform later his year.
