Carrie Ann Inaba Is Engaged – Who’s the Lucky Guy?
“Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actor Robb Derringer are engaged!
Over the weekend, Robb popped the question to Carrie at a beach cove in California, the place where they had their first date. The pair told People magazine, "Saturdays are special to us, because our first date was on a Saturday and we have celebrated with a toast, a visit to a beach, special date, a motorcycle adventure, or a road trip on every Saturday since. So on Saturday, we returned to the place of our first date and got engaged at the same place we shared our spontaneous and magical first date.”
Carrie revealed, "We shared our desire to commit to one another for life by beginning that journey in a very intimate and private way, just the two of us, alone on the beach with a bonfire, a bottle of Aubert Chardonnay and the majestic Pacific ocean that has always been an integral force in both our lives… All alone on that beautiful beach, it was as if time stood still and we were the only two people on earth. I will never forget it. It was perfect.”
Robb proposed with a Jean Dousset ring. Along with the sparkler, he gave her a heartfelt letter, saying, "I'm a better writer than a speaker so I chose to share my thoughts with Carrie in a letter expressing how much she meant to me, how much she had changed me, how much she had taught me in our time together thus far and what my hopes and dreams and intentions were for our future together.”
Derringer went on about the moment he asked her to marry him, "I then got down on one knee under what I will always remember as the most serene and tranquil night sky I've ever seen and asked my beautiful girl if she would do me the honor of being my wife, to which she thankfully replied yes.”
Inaba also opened up about the role that age has played in their relationship. “I think that because we were both 48 when we met and had both experienced so much life before meeting, our love unfolded in a different way than it does when you are 28, and for that we are grateful.”
