'Venom' and 'A Star Is Born' Conquer the Box Office

According to Variety, Tom Hardy's superhero flick "Venom" has smashed a record with $80 million in its opening weekend, and the Bradley Cooper-directed "A Star Is Born" outperformed estimates to take in $42.6 million.
"Venom" was also an international monster, with another $125.2 million.
Third place went to the Warner Bros. animated film "Smallfoot" with $14.4 million, and "Night School" continued its run with another $12.3 million.
