'Bachelorette' Recap: Kaitlyn Bristowe Is Engaged!

"The Bachelorette" star Kaitlyn Bristowe got engaged on the finale of the show last night. In the episode, the 30-year-old dance instructor let her two suitors — Shawn Booth and Nick Viall — meet her family before she made her final decision.

The final episode began with Kaitlyn telling her family that she is in love with both guys. When she told them that Nick was one of the guys, her mom was totally shocked because of his reputation from last season.

When Kaitlyn's mom met with Nick, she called him "jealous," "possessive" and "arrogant." She had a change of heart when she saw him breaking down while gushing about Kaitlyn. After meeting her mom, Nick had a chat with her dad, who approved of him. Nick says that Kaitlyn has all qualities he wants and reveals that he would marry her if she lets him.

Then, Kaitlyn's family is introduced to Shawn, who admitted he was nervous. During the visit, Kaitlyn's mom confronted Shawn about his jealously. He says he is jealous because he has such strong feelings for Kaitlyn. He further impresses her mom by telling her that he respects Kaitlyn after she confessed to having sex with Nick. At the end of the day, Shawn asks for her parents' blessing to marry her.

After Nick and Shawn met her parents, Kaitlyn went on individual dates with them. Nick and Kaitlyn enjoyed a date on a boat, where she told Nick that she is happy he took a chance and came on the show. Nick gave her gift, a photo of their first date, and a sweet note. Kaitlyn gushed, "I believe this is the guy for me" and says she can see Nick as her husband.

Kaitlyn and Shawn went on a date, but things got awkward because she couldn't tell him how she feels. Shawn admits he has a "pit" in his stomach and doesn't know if he can propose to her. Later in the night, they spend more time together at his hotel room, where he gave her a memory jar of notes and pics from all their dates. After the date, Kaitlyn broke down because she knew she was "blindsiding someone."

Nick was first to propose, but she stopped him and said she is "sorry." She admitted that her "heart is with someone else." Nick didn't take it well and didn't want to hear her explanation.
