Logan Paul Apologizes After Posting Video of Dead Body
YouTube star Logan Paul came under fire after he posted a video of a dead body.
While traveling in Japan, Paul and his friends visited Aokigahara Forest, near Mount Fuji, which is a well-known suicide site.
In the video, which has since been taken down, Paul explains the reputation of the forest and warns viewers, “This definitely marks a moment in YouTube history. Because I'm pretty sure that this has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever.”
He continues, “Now with that said, buckle up.”
The video shows the group coming across a dead body hanging from a tree. The person's face is blurred. Logan asks, "Yo, are you alive? Are you f---ing with us?"
Logan goes on to describe the condition of the body and insists that suicide is no joke.
After receiving harsh criticism for the footage, Paul apologized in a lengthy Twitter post, saying, “I didn't do it for views… I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. That's never the intention.”
He continued, “I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention…”
