Bobby Brown Dishes on His Past Romances with Janet Jackson & Madonna
Singer Bobby Brown may have been married to Whitney Houston, but he was also linked to other famous women, including Janet Jackson and Madonna.
Before he hooked up with Houston, he apparently dated Janet for a few months in the '80s. He told Us Weekly, "I fell in love with [Janet] when she was Penny on 'Good Times.' It goes back that far, you know, my infatuation with her... She loved me but wasn't in love with me."
In his book "Every Little Step: My Story,” Bobby opened up about how he kicked her out of their hotel room after “having sex.” He threw her out after Janet allegedly told him, "My father won't allow me to be with a black man.”
As for his relationship with Madonna, he commented to Us magazine, “We met through mutual friends. One of her dancers was dating a friend of mine and I guess she told my friend that Madonna wanted to meet me. We ended up going down to the studio and the next thing I know, there was some strange things happening to me.”
Bobby added, "Madonna is really forceful. When she wants something, she'll take it.”
In his book, he also alleges Whitney had a secret relationship with her former assistant Robyn Crawford. He said, “We were married for 14 years. There are some things we talked about that were personal to us.”
Though Whitney always denied rumors that she was romantically involved with Robyn, Bobby believes she couldn't be honest about the situation because of her family's disapproval. Back in 2013, Whitney's mom Cissy told Oprah Winfrey that it would have “absolutely” bothered her if the “Greatest Love of All” singer was a lesbian. Bobby reiterated, “I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney's life, Whitney would still be alive today. She didn't have close friends with her anymore.”
