5 Celeb-Inspired Hairstyles for Summer
It's summer! Time for new shoes, a new swimsuit and a new 'do! Andrew Robarge, stylist at Santa Monica's Miakel Bishay Salon, let us in on five celeb-inspired summer cuts, colors and styles perfect for the warmer season. Take a look!
Lightened Locks
They say blondes have more, and ladies are lightening their locks this summer. This season's go-to color is platinum. This look works best on women with cool skin tones, but anyone can try out the lighter shade by adding amplified blond tips to your ends. "Dancing with the Stars" judge Julianne Hough went full-blonde below, while Jessica Alba added highlights to give her a blonde ombre look.

Bob with Bangs
Don't be afraid to cut your long locks for summer. Whether you choose a long bob, short, or something in between, you can easily style this look with a center part, but be prepared to trim your bangs every three weeks. If you have a round face, a long bob is best, and a flat iron keeps your bob looking its best. Taylor Swift showed off her layered bob with bangs at this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards. Actress Katie Holmes debuted her new 'do at the 2015 Meta Gala.

Side-Swept Bangs
Not ready to pick up the scissors for those straight-edged bangs? Take a baby step into the style with side-swept bangs! They add softness to your look, no matter whether you go long or short with your cut. Create a side part and blow dry only your bangs straight. Adding rumpled waves to the rest of your hair gives it a fun, laid-back look that's perfect for a day at the beach. Jennifer Lopez and Kerry Washington's side-swept bangs add a sexy style to their hair.

Shoulder-Length Layers
If you have medium-length hair or you're planning to cut it that length, then for the summer, try out longer layers throughout your hair. Layers help keep the cut light and fresh, and can add texture to thin hair. Add shorter layers around the jawline in front, and add some sun-kissed highlights for a fantastic California style. Both Reese Witherspoon and "Twilight" actress Ashley Greene added waves to their hair for a relaxed beach feel.

Messy Braids
Beat the heat by braiding your hair! This season, it's all about the bohemian braid. From messy braids to side-swept looks, you can easily achieve this style with just a little bit of texture (dirty hair works best), some elastics and a few bobby pins to hold everything in place. Beyoncé went old-school with a simple braid down her back, while "Pitch Perfect 2" actress Brittany Snow pulled off the tangled side braid at this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards.
