Why Donald Glover Is Retiring His Grammy-Winning Alter Ego Childish Gambino
Despite winning a Grammy last night, Donald Glover is still retiring his stage name Childish Gambino.
The 34-year-old told reporters, “I stand by that. I'm really appreciative of this. I'm making another project right now. But I like endings, I think they're important to progress.”
“I think if a lot of things had death clauses in them, we wouldn't have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest,” Glover said. “I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”
Earlier in the night, he performed “Terrified” with J.D. McCrary, his co-star in the live-action remake of “The Lion King.”
In June, Glover announced that his upcoming album would be his last at the Governors Ball Music Festival.
Aside from his music, Glover is also making waves in acting, taking home the Emmy for acting and directing for his work on “Atlanta” in September.
