Gigi & Bella Hadid Protest President Trump’s Immigration Ban
Gigi and Bella Hadid joined in the #NoBanNoWall march in New York City yesterday. The march was in protest of President Trump's executive order to temporarily ban refugees and immigrants bearing green cards from entering or re-entering the United States if they come from one of seven majority-Muslim nations.
The model sisters are the daughters of immigrants: Their Palestinian father Mohamed Hadid was born in Nazareth (now Israel) and their mother Yolanda Foster was born in the Netherlands.
In spite of President Trump's assurance that the order is not a so-called “Muslim ban,” many who object to it see it in that light. The girls' father and Gigi's boyfriend Zayn Malik are Muslim.
Gigi, 21, posted a photo to Instagram of her and Bella, 20, holding up a sign that read, “We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews.” One letter from each word was used to spelled the word “HUMANS."

Foster, proud of her daughters, shared on Instagram a black-and-white photo of the two, writing, "That's right, we are one….. Open to all religion, all races and all countries.” She added the hashtags #America and #LoveTrumpsHate.
During the January 21 Women's March, Gigi tweeted her support, writing, "So inspired by the incredible & unique humans in this world everyday.” She added, “Thank you for beautifully demonstrating how to put gender, race, religion aside & come TOGETHER for what is right.”
