Lady Gaga on Singing National Anthem at Super Bowl: 'That's Rock and Roll!'
Lady Gaga is not going to be phoning in her performance of the national anthem on Super Bowl 50 Sunday — in fact, she told NFL Network that being asked to perform is "one of the highest honors of my career."
Gaga, her blonde hair swept back and wearing a dressy blouse and skirt under a sharp maroon leather jacket, told interviewer Nate Burleson, "It's such an honor, and a total dream come true. I've always wanted to sing the national anthem at a major sporting event ever since I was a little girl, and for it to be the Super Bowl... it is the ultimate."
She also reminisced about copying Whitney Houston's famous performance of the song from January 27, 1991, when she was a kid. Gaga said her father would tell her, "You're gettin' pretty good, kid."
