Donald Trump Explains Why Alec Baldwin’s ‘SNL’ Portrayal Is ‘Inaccurate'
With only 11 days until the election, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sat down only with “Extra's” AJ Calloway, hours after his running mate Mike Pence's campaign plane skidded off the runway at New York's LaGuardia Airport.
During the sit-down interview, Trump revealed why he is not a fan of Alec Baldwin's take of him on “Saturday Night Live.” Though he told “Extra's” Mario Lopez that he wanted Baldwin to play him in a movie years ago, Trump has changed his tune. Of Alec's impression, Trump commented, “Well, I think I'm a much nicer guy than he's portraying. He's portraying someone who's very mean and nasty, and I'm not mean and nasty. I think I'm a much nicer person than he's portraying, so I think it's an inaccurate portrayal of me.”
When asked if he would ever consider returning to “SNL,” Trump replied, “They want me to go back. No, I'm not interested in going back… They're making me out to be a very mean, bad kind of a guy and that's not me.”
Trump also weighed in on the controversy surrounding the leaked audio between himself and Billy Bush. Though he hasn't reached out to the former “Today" anchor, Trump said, “I have always liked Billy, but I have not [spoken to him]… but I always found Billy to be a good guy.”
As for how Pence is doing after the scary plane incident, Trump shared, “He's doing fine. Fortunately, they were feet away from being in big trouble. He is such a great person, and a very religious person, and he came close… He is a fabulous person. That was really a wise pick. I'm very proud of that pick, and everyone now acknowledges that was really a great choice for vice president.”
On what will happen on Election Day, Trump predicted, “I think we're going to have a massive turnout come November 8, and you and I will meet probably on November 9 and we'll discuss it.”
Before the votes are in, Trump also made a big promise, saying, “I'm going to bring the country together… I think to a certain extent you've got to be a cheerleader for the country.”
Before wrapping up the interview, AJ had a little October surprise of his own for Trump, a Halloween mask of his face. Trump reacted, “Wow, that's much better-looking than me… I think I'll use this one. Wow, I'm gonna keep that!”
