Did George Michael's Boyfriend Really Tweet That the Singer Wanted to Die?
The late George Michael's boyfriend, hairstylist Fadi Fawaz, has angered fans for speaking so freely about George's personal struggles in the wake of his shocking death, but did he really tweet that Michael wanted to die?
People magazine reports Fawaz's Twitter account on Sunday morning was filled with new messages, one of which stated that Michael wanted to die, and had tried to kill himself numerous times.
The tweets, since deleted — along with Fawaz's entire Twitter account — claimed, "The only thing George wanted is to DIE He tried numbers of time to kill himself many times… and finally he managed…".
Fawaz was reportedly the one who discovered Michael's lifeless body on Christmas Day, leading him to tweet at the time, "It's a [Christmas] I will never forget — finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning. I will never stop missing you."
The night before the singer's death, Fawaz revealed to the Mirror UK, “I fell asleep in my car and I never saw him that night.”
Last week, he said, “I stayed the whole weekend. I was there Friday night and then I found him Sunday.”
As for criticism that he is oversharing, Fawaz posted on Instagram Friday, "I should be able to share my beautiful moments with the man I love regardless... x".

Fawaz has since strongly denied he wrote the tweets. In a statement to Mirror Online, he said, "I am shocked with what's going on with the Twitter thing. My Twitter account has been hacked and closed. It's a bit scary to be honest. I did not send those tweets. I woke up at 11.30am to the news. I am not going to worry about these things."
