Actor Robert De Niro, 75, and wife Grace Hightower, 63, are calling it quits after more than 20 years of marriage.
A source told People magazine of the separated couple, who are living apart, “Sometimes things don't work out the way you hope or want them to.”
Robert has been attending public events solo lately. Another insider revealed with Page Six, “De Niro and Grace are breaking up. He's been at a few things since the very end of the summer without her — and rumor has it they are done.”
This is the second time they have separated. In 1999, Robert filed for divorce, but was able to work things out with Grace and reconcile. They would renew their vows in 2004.
Robert and Grace, who met when she was working at Mr. Chow in London, tied the knot in 1997 after dating for nearly 10 years.
