'Cheers' Actor Roger Rees, a Broadway Veteran, Dies at 71
Roger Rees, who shot to fame on the stage in the groundbreaking "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby," an eight-plus-hour adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel, has died at age 71.
Rees worked until a brief illness kept him from it. Most recently, he appeared in "The Visit" on Broadway with Chita Rivera; the production closed less than a month ago.

Rees is survived by his husband, the writer and producer Rick Elice, with whom he wrote the play "Double Double."
