Lil Wayne Dropped By Mountain Dew Over Controversial Lyric
It doesn't look like Lil Wayne will be pitching Mountain Dew again, after parent company PepsiCo dropped him over a controversial lyric.
Weezy's offending line in Future's “Karate Chop (Remix)” references civil rights martyr Emmitt Till, who was murdered at just 14 years old.
In the song, he raps, "Beat the pu--y up like Emmett Till."
The soda company told MTV News in a statement that Lil Wayne's “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.”
