Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscar Sneak Peek: Will Mario Lopez Be Included in the Opening Monologue?
Jimmy Kimmel is busy prepping for the 90th Academy Awards this Sunday, and “Extra's” Mario Lopez sat down with him at the Dolby Theatre today to get the inside scoop on the big night. What's Jimmy got planned for the opening monologue? He surprised Mario with some news, telling him, “I will tease not us, but you specifically. There may be, and it hasn't been finalized, but you may be referenced in the very opening of the Oscars personally. Stand by! I'm kind obsessed with you.”
While Jimmy told Mario there will be no Oscar edition of the popular Jimmy Kimmel Live! staple, “Mean Tweets,” the comic did joke that “Stevie Wonder is running the accounting for the Academy this year, because it's a much better choice,” when Mario asked him who's in charge of the accounting after last year's major snafu with the Best Picture envelopes.
The 90th Annual Academy Awards airs this Sunday on ABC.
