‘Sorry Babes’: Ariana Grande Issues Apology Video After ‘Doughnut Fiasco’
Ariana Grande took to YouTube on Thursday to apologize after surveillance video showed the pop star saying “I hate America” and licking doughnuts at a Wolfee Donuts store in Lake Elsinore, CA.
Earlier this week, Grande issued an apology trying to explain that her comment and actions stemmed from America's obesity crisis. Now, she's taken the mea culpa one step further, explaining herself on video.
Ariana said, "I just want to make a video to apologize again for the whole doughnut fiasco and craziness because I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my feelings with the food industry, which is not relative... I feel I could have expressed myself in a different way... Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly that you had no idea was taken is such a rude awakening.”
The 22-year-old continued, "I was so disgusted with myself. I shoved my face in a pillow and wanted to disappear, but instead of that I'm going to come forward, own up to what I did, take responsibility, and say I'm sorry... I reacted in a way that wasn't necessary to say the least and also wasn't me at all. I apologize for my poor choice of words and my behaviour. Seeing how ugly it looks when you behave a certain way makes you never want to behave that way again.”
