The Reason Behind Ariana Grande & Big Sean's Split… It’s NOT Her Dad
Adorable couple Ariana Grande and Big Sean have split after 8 months of dating, their reps confirmed to Us Weekly.
Sean posted a pic of himself last week with the caption, "I give her that D... #Detroit," referring to a verse in Kanye West's hit “Mercy.” An Instagram account with the name Edward Butera replied to the rapper's comment by saying, “That D. better be Detroit Sean.”

Once the comment was posted, fans reacted and rumors of Grande's dad defending his daughter took over the feed, but it has since been shut down by Grande's publicist, saying the private account is fake.
The real Edward Butera further drove the point home, insisting, "That is an imposter on Instagram.”
The 21-year-old singer and 27-year-old rapper first confirmed they were a couple back in October 2014. The pair took their romance center stage shortly after, performing together at concerts and showing off their love on Instagram, which had many thinking that was the reason behind the split… and the scolding on social media.
“They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends,” their reps said in a joint statement. “We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time."

A source close to the couple says they ended their relationship on friendly terms a few weeks ago. “They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year.”
