Kandi summed up the season in three simple words, “Drama as always.” She also revealed who she is and is not friends with on the show. “Cynthia, Kendra, and Shree, we got along just fine. Phaedra and I we are cordial. Porsha, we do not get along at all.”
Kandi's ongoing conflicts with Porsha come to a head this season. Burruss explained, “She wanted to put out that I'm a lesbian and I said, 'If I am, you are, too, boo.” The two did actually kiss at an after-hours club a few years back. She revealed, “We were dancing, we're partying, she kisses me, I rolled with it, we were having fun, whatever... It didn't go too far, it was just a kiss.”
During the ninth season, Burruss was accused of having a sex dungeon and trying to have a threesome with Porsha, which she denied. She said, "A lot of those girls don't live in their truth… You need to watch the show — you'll see how the story changes over and over again.”
As for Kandi's story line this season, she says it's all about keeping it real. “I went into this season that I'm not biting my tongue on anything. What comes up, comes out.”
Burruss also opened up about a crazy incident that happened to her and her husband Todd as they were flying to Maui. The two were about to film the Season 9 cast trip when a ticket screw-up caused a commotion and the pilot reportedly requested they exit the plane prior to takeoff. She emphasized, “We didn't do anything to get kicked off the plane.” The airline issued an apology and pointed out that Kandi requested to get off, but Kandi says otherwise. “Why would I want to get off the plane?”
Aside from all the drama, Kandi has new music coming out. “I was in the studio recently and I was listening a lot of songs I just have sitting that I never put out. I was thinking, 'I should put these out.'” She is hoping to get it out by the beginning of the New Year.
