Taylor Swift Surprises 96-Year-Old Fan with Personal Concert
Taylor Swift made Christmas the best one yet for a special 96-year-old fan.
Cyrus Porter is known for two things in his hometown of New Madrid, Missouri; being a World War II veteran and his love for Taylor Swift. In fact, he has been to many of her concerts, driving to Memphis and St. Louis to see her.
Porter told KFVS 12 News, "Look what she does, she puts on a show no one else puts on," he said. "I just liked the way the way she did stuff.”
This past year, Cyrus was diagnosed with cancer. He had one last goal of seeing his favorite pop star perform one more time. After KFVS 12 News ran a story about the vet's love for his favorite singer, Taylor got wind of of it and decided to make his dream come true!
The “Shake It Off” singer and her parents drove to New Madrid to surprised Porter and 60 family members with a surprise house call concert Monday afternoon.
His granddaughter, Caroline Fowler, told E! News, "My Popo was ecstatic! He was grinning from ear to ear and even had tears in his eyes… The first thing he said to her was 'How did you get here?' He loved every moment. He told her how he was proud of his family, his country and Taylor Swift!”
She also tweeted, "Taylor Swift crashing our family Christmas was just a dream right???"
