Prince’s Brother Alfred Speaks Out Amid Family Estate Talks
Prince's siblings, including half-brother Alfred Jackson, attended a court hearing today in which a judge appointed Bremer Trust to temporarily take over the artist's approximately $300 million fortune.
“Extra” sat down with Alfred ahead of the hearing to talk about his relationship with the icon and whether Prince ever supported him.
“He was a great man, a great musician,” said Jackson, who was accompanied by his lawyer, Frank Wheton. “He was very energetic, he played instruments.”
Alfred continued, “He would run around the downstairs, playing basketball with me… I played with him and Tyka like that. He was a good runner, he could run track.”
He added that he thought Prince would grow up and play the piano at church, something the artist did do later in life.
Alfred, a U.S. Air Force vet, said he never asked his brother for money, explaining, “I was in the military... I didn't need any wealth.”
