Cynthia Nixon Jokes About What It’s Going to Take to Make ‘Sex and the City 3’
“Extra's” AJ Calloway caught up with Cynthia Nixon at the Gotham Awards in NYC, where they joked about what it would take to make “Sex and the City 3.”
Following rumors of friction behind the scenes, AJ suggested the cast get together over a couple bottles of wine… and a bottle of tequila.
Cynthia laughed, saying, “That sounds good. I'll be there.”
Calloway insisted, “We can make it happen,” and Nixon replied, “If you're leading the way maybe we can… there is always hope.”
The actress also discussed her “daunting” and "exhilarating” role as Emily Dickinson in “A Quiet Passion,” which gave AJ an idea.
He suggested inviting her “Sex and the City” castmates over to watch the film and to talk about making another film. “That sounds good,” she said with a smile, “And tequila sounds good too.”
Her former co-stars have weighed in on the news over the past few months, after Daily Mail TV broke the news that the studio shelved the project over Kim Cattrall's demands.
Kim later explained her exit to Piers Morgan, "That was part of turning 60. That was a very clear moment of, 'How many years do I have left, and... what haven't I done?' I feel that the show is the best when it was the series and the bonus was the two movies. I haven't killed Samantha, I have released Samantha… for me, it's over, and it's over with no regrets.”
“Extra” caught up with Sarah Jessica Parker in September and she shared her disappointment, saying, “We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
Kristin Davis opened up to fans on Instagram, saying, "I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters. It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter."
