Richard Gere Welcomes Baby #2 at 69

Actor Richard Gere is a dad again!

Gere's wife Alejandra Silva, 35, gave birth to their baby boy last week in NYC, his rep confirmed to People magazine.

In December, Alejandra showed her excitement over the baby's arrival, posting on Instagram, “I'm so happy!”

Silva confirmed her pregnancy in September with a pic of the Dalai Lama blessing her baby bump. She wrote on Instagram, “We couldn't announce it before telling HH Dalai Lama☺️.”

The baby comes less than a year after Richard and Alejandra tied the knot at his home in Pound Ridge, New York. At the time, a source told People magazine, “They're so comfortable with each other, have fun together, and are looking forward to their future together.”

Richard and Alejandra have been together since 2014. A few years ago, she told Hola!, "Our karma was attracted the moment we saw each other. I'm not ignoring our age difference and what it means to be with a Hollywood star, but when there's such a strong karmic energy, the problems disappear.”

Gere is also the father of Homer James Jigme, 19, with ex-wife Carey Lowell.
