Former 'Bachelor' Contestant Lex McAllister Dead at 31
UPDATE: Jake Pavelka posted a tribute to Lex on Twitter, writing, "Im so sad to hear about Alexa. Such a beautiful girl. My heart breaks for her family. Covering them in prayer during this rough time."
Lex McAllister, who appeared on Season 14 of “The Bachelor,” died Tuesday morning, reports TMZ. She was 31.
Authorities in Columbus, Ohio, believe McAllister committed suicide by overdosing on prescription medication.
She was found unconscious on Saturday and rushed to the hospital. On an emergency medical services call obtained by "Extra" an operator can be heard requesting a medic for an "unconscious overdose." She was initially in stable condition, but her body began to shut down. On Tuesday, her family decided to take her off life support, and McAllister passed away.
A family member told TMZ that she had suffered from depression and bipolar disorder.
McAllister, a business development expert, franchise consultant, and entrepreneur, appeared on the same season of “The Bachelor” as Jake Pavelka. She went home the first week, but famously spoke out about Jake and his ex-girlfriend Vienna Girardi's breakup.
