Taylor Swift Gives $50,000 to Dancer's Nephew Fighting Cancer
Superstar Taylor Swift is busy playing sold-out concerts around the world, but she recently found time to make a difference in a young cancer patient's life.
Swift donated $50,000 to a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for 13-year-old Ayden's cancer treatment. Taylor's generous donation helped Ayden, who is the nephew of her backup dancer Kim "Toshi" Davidson, more than double his ultimate goal of raising $20,000.
On Ayden's GoFundMe page, Taylor wrote, "Baby Ayden, I'm lucky enough to perform with your uncle Toshi on tour. All of us are praying for you and your mama and sending so much love your way. Love, Taylor."
After seeing Taylor's donation, Davidson wrote on Instagram, "So I get off the plane in Toronto and this is the 1st thing I see… @taylorswift is an angel and My family and I can't thank her enough… She is such an incredible human being… This will help Lil Toshi in this time of need… Let's pray for him to beat this… This unexpected gift is truly a blessing."
Cancer is no stranger to Taylor, whose mom was diagnosed earlier this year. She revealed the news by saying, "Thank you for caring about my family so much that she would want me to share this information with you. I hope and pray that you never get news like this."
