Sailor Brinkley Talks ‘Heartbreaking’ Elimination from ‘DWTS’
“Extra's” Billy Bush was with Sailor Brinkley and Val Chmerkovskiy on the heels of their shocking “Dancing with the Stars” elimination.
Sailor was visibly distraught last night when she heard her name announced. Billy asked her what happened, and she replied, “I don't know. It's a show and things happen. It was very unexpected even for me, but I am just happy that I had the experience. I just have to look at it that way so I don't keep getting sad about it... It was heartbreaking, but it happens.”
Val added, “It was a great season… I told Sailor, 'At some point — win or lose — it still comes to an end. It was never going to be easy to stop dancing with me.” He added with a smile, “We just had a blast.”
Sean Spicer had the lowest score, but he is moving on and will get to dance in the Halloween show. Sailor explained, “It felt crazy. It did. It was unexpected, but the unexpected happens in life. It was unexpected that I was going to be on the show.”
Brinkley went on, “What breaks my heart is I loved working with these people… Every person on set was filled with genuine kindness that I had never seen in the workplace… That's what I am going to miss. I am going to miss the people, the experience.”
The 21-year-old said her mom, Christie Brinkley, is just as heartbroken as she is. “She was very much a part of this too… Her breaking her arm and not being able to do it was devastating… We were just sad.”
She is all in for her mom to avenge her on the next season, she said: “I think it definitely could happen.”
